Mike Brown made it perfectly clear Monday why he's picked backup Steve Blake to finish games as the Lakers point guard in favor of starter Ramon Sessions. Blake has simply been better, Brown said before Game 5.

Brown liked Blake's hard-nosed play.

Brown didn't like Sessions' lack of aggression.

"At times, with this being Sessions' first playoff run, I felt at times he was a little lost or just out there going through the motions," Brown said.

"And so I chose to go with Steve Blake. We've won some games that way."

Brown had a simple answer when asked if would start Blake in Game 5, "No."
