The awards keep coming in for Chase Headley.

The third baseman was named the National League Player of the Month for September on Tuesday, marking the second straight month that Headley won the honor.

Headley, 28, was also unanimously voted the Padres Player of the Year for 2012 by writers regularly covering the team. Left-handed starting pitcher Clayton Richard was the unanimous pick as the Padres Pitcher of the Year.

Headley hit .324 in September with nine homers and 30 RBI with a .410 on-base percentage and a .645 slugging percentage. He won the National League Player of the Month Award for August for hitting .306 with 10 homers and 31 RBI with a .345 on-base percentage and a .611 slugging percentage.

"I'm more proud of September than the August award because I was able to sustain what I was going," said Headley, who has 31 homers and a league-leading 113 RBI on the season.
