The goaltending dynamic in New Jersey continues to take shape.

Cory Schneider is pushing for the starting job occupied for roughly the last 20 years by Martin Brodeur arguably the best netminder in the game’s history who is looking to maintain his position.
“It’s a lot different when you’re the age of (40-year-old Johan Hedberg) and you know he’s going to be the backup” Brodeur said as per the northjersey.com hockey blog Fire & Ice.
“(Schneider’s) working to be No. 1 and it’s going to be a great challenge for me to take my game to a certain level so we could push each other and do well for the team.”

This is not a new situation for Schneider.
