Yesterday afternoon, ESPN's Scott Burnside reported potential Phoenix Coyotes owner Greg Jamison did not have the fund to meet today's deadline to purchase the team. Later in the day Fox Sports Arizona's Craig Morgan also stated his sources told him the Jamison deal would likely not be happening. In addition to the reports yesterday, the signs on Thursday don't appear good. The fact that today arrived without a deal itself was a danger sign.
Where things go from here is anyone's guess. According to Burnside and Morgan pieces and statements made by Glendale mayor Jerry Weiers today, un-named new group/s appear to be interested in possibly acquiring the franchise and keeping it in Glendale. Such a group could try to made their own deals with the Glendale City Council, though based on past comments from the newest Glendale council members and comments made by Mayor Weiers any deal would likely involve less money going to a potential ownership group from the city than the Jamison deal
