Everything will be amped up a notch or two Tuesday when the Rays return from their third and final off-day of the spring.

With a dozen days left on the Grapefruit League schedule, this final stretch is what manager Joe Maddon would call "go time."

Time for the regular position players to play consecutive games and get their plate appearances up to the 60 to 70 range that Maddon targeted earlier this spring.

Time for pitchers to go deeper in games and relief pitchers to work on consecutive days.

Time for the new infielders to work on the over-shifts.

Time to execute bunts and bunt defenses.

Time to get the signs down.
