The 37-year-old will remain in hockey with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada organization of the QMJHL.

Giguere spent his last three seasons with the Avalanche mostly in a backup role and became an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The netminder won the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2003 and the Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks. He also had stints with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames during his 16-year career.
