As he arrived at his new baseball home late Tuesday, right fielder Hunter Pence must have thought, "Crisis? What crisis?"
A crowd of 41,774 was cheering the tail end of a 4-1 Giants victory that moved them back into sole possession of first place in the National League West, and there was music in the clubhouse as Pence unloaded his gear in a locker next to winning pitcher Tim Lincecum's.
"Walking into the stadium was amazing," Pence said. "There were fans welcoming me. They were pumped. That makes you excited when you get here. You're on a plane all day traveling. Now, you can't wait to come out and play baseball."
