It hasn't taken Gabriel Landeskog? long to move up the ladder with the Avalanche.

The 18-year-old rookie was promoted Tuesday to skating at left wing on a line with Paul Stastny and David Jones, and will play with them for tonight's NHL preseason game against Los Angeles at the Pepsi Center.

Landeskog replaced fellow Swede Joakim Lindstrom on that line. Coach Joe Sacco has been impressed enough with the second overall pick in the draft to want to see more tonight against another team.

"I want to see if there's some chemistry between those guys," Sacco said.

Landeskog had been skating with Ryan O'Reilly and Daniel Winnik, but Lindstrom skated with them Tuesday.

"It's early and it's only one practice, but it was fun," Landeskog said. "Those are two great players, so they make it easy out there."
