Fulham are reportedly preparing a January bid for Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey.

The American, who spent five-and-a-half years at Craven Cottage before moving to Tottenham in the summer of 2012, would be available for a short-term loan move due to Major League Soccer's off-season.

The Cottagers are keen to bring the former fans' favourite back when the transfer window opens next month, according to the Daily Mail.

The 30-year-old could turn out for Rene Meulensteen's side for two months, with the MLS not due to start again until the second week of March.

The Sounders' General Manager Adrian Hanauer recently admitted that a loan move for the USA international could be forthcoming.
