Tucked in a corner of the Blackhawks' dressing room, adjacent to Marian Hossa's stall, sits Rostislav Olesz's locker.
The winger has been the forgotten man since joining the Hawks in a trade with the Panthers for Brian Campbell on June 24, 2011, a move made more for salary considerations than Olesz's talent.
After appearing in six games without a point in the first five weeks of 2011-12, Olesz and his salary — which carries a cap hit of $3.125 million through 2013-14 — were exiled to Rockford of the AHL.
In April, the 27-year-old suffered a serious right knee injury while playing for the IceHogs. Olesz recently has begun skating with veteran defenseman Steve Montador, who is working his way back from symptoms related to a concussion.
General manager Stan Bowman said he will monitor Olesz's progress before determining if he would get another chance with the Hawks or end up back in Rockford.
