Surprisingly cheerful, goalie Ilya Bryzgalov waddled into the Flyers’ locker room after a rough-and-tumble 25-minute practice with his helmet resting on top of his head.

Only hours after the Flyers’ most humiliating loss of the year, the goalie who was pulled after about 36 minutes of work was one of few players who was in a good mood.

“Hellooooo everybody,” Bryzgalov said, announcing his arrival.

Not everyone was so chipper.

In a week when the Flyers desperately needed results, they have zero points in the standings after games against the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins.

The most frustrating part, clearly, was the fact that the Flyers had no finish against Pittsburgh after opening the first period with a 4-1 lead.

“Coming here today, it’s a tough day. It’s not a fun place to be,” said Danny Briere, who was a minus-3 against Pittsburgh. “We have to try to stay positive. It’s not easy, a lot of long faces around. There’s nothing that will get the smiles back other than a win.”
