Danny Taylor is packing his goalie pads for an overseas excursion.

After two appearances with the Calgary Flames this season, including his first big-league win, Taylor has agreed to a deal with Farjestad of the Swedish Elite League. Farjestad announced the signing on their website.

The 27-year-old netminder had an expiring contract and wasn't going to factor into the Flames' puck-stopping plans for next winter.

Although Miikka Kiprusoff's future is up in the air, Joey MacDonald will be back at the Saddledome and will be challenged by Reto Berra and Karri Ramo.

Joni Ortio is also under contract, while Edmonton Oil Kings standout Laurent Brossoit will likely go pro.
