He's always shared a name and a nationality with his idol Teemu Selanne, but on Sunday Teemu Hartikainen, the Edmonton Oilers power forward in training, even managed to share a few words with the Anaheim Ducks ageless sniper.
"We spoke a little bit, and to see him across the ice, out there on faceoffs … it was great," said Hartikainen, who scored his first two goals of the season in a 2-1 victory over Selanne's Ducks Sunday at the Honda Center. Selanne, the future Hall of Famer, has 1,405 points in 1338 games — 1,395 more points than Hartikainen has collected through his first 26 games.
Selanne scored the only goal for Anaheim.
