Portuguese giants to drop out of midfielder race.

Portuguese champions Porto have reportedly told former midfielder Anderson that they can’t afford his wages, let alone his transfer fee and will most likely drop their interest in signing him, the Daily Mail writes.

Manchester United boss David Moyes had been hoping to offload the Brazilian, who’s influence on the side had dropped dramatically over the past two seasons and a January return to Porto had been mooted as a distinct possibility.

The 25-year-old has been told by the manager that he may find it difficult to force his way back into the fold at Old Trafford and both player and manager had been exploring the possibility of a move away in the new year.
