It appears as if Eagles coach Chip Kelly will keep everyone guessing about his starting quarterback until game time Sunday when the Eagles face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Michael Vick continues to rehab from his hamstring strain suffered last Sunday against the Giants. He was listed as “limited” in practice for the second straight day on the Eagles’ injury report.

Vick said he did some of the team drills but not all of them. And he hasn’t run at full speed yet.

When asked how long he’d be willing to wait to make a decision Kelly responded: “12:59 (p.m. on Sunday).”

The reality is that starting lineups and the inactive list have to be finalized 90 minutes before the game.

“We’ll see how it is as we go into it” Kelly said. “Again we’re never going to put him in harm’s way. We’re always going to do what’s best for the team. We have three full days to get a full evaluation.”

Vick seemed to give mixed signals.

He said he could play “if I had to.” But when asked if he could commit Thursday to playing Sunday he replied: “I can’t sit here and make that type of statement. The thing I can say is it that it’s getting better each and every day.”

If Vick can’t play Nick Foles will take over as the starting quarterback.
