Reid Boucher's 62 goals last season in the Ontario Hockey League didn’t translate into instant success in the NHL.

The Devils gave the rookie winger chance after chance after chance to produce in his first NHL stint, but 23 games of opportunity, including four on the top line, led to just three goals and seven points.

The Devils still are high on Boucher, but the 20-year-old was assigned to the American Hockey League's Albany Devils on Wednesday, a day off for the team.

Meantime, the Devils did not give an update on center Adam Henrique, who didn't play in the third period of Tuesday night's 7-1 win over St. Louis due to an undisclosed injury.

It seems likely, however, than Henrique's injury isn't serious since the Devils farmed out Boucher, whose departure could open up a roster spot for defenseman Peter Harrold.

Harrold missed the last 20 games with a foot injury, but returned to practice on Monday and is ready to play.
