Patrik Elias was 24 when he played in his first Stanley Cup Finals with the Devils in 2000, and he set up Jason Arnott's Cup-winning goal in Dallas.
Now he's 36, back for his fourth Finals and looking for his third ring. It's been nine years since his last Finals in 2003, and he's happy to finally have another chance to play for the Cup.
"After nine years, I wanted desperately to get back here," Elias said Tuesday. "… After a couple of years of not advancing, not being successful, especially as you get older, you cherish every opportunity you get. You appreciate it more."
