Since signing a $60 million contract with the Detroit Lions in 2010, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has shown a willingness to give back to the people and institutions that helped him achieve success.

In 2011, Suh was named the most charitable athlete in America by The Giving Back Fund for a pair of donations to the University of Nebraska totaling $2.6 million.

On Thursday, it was reported that Suh is donating $250,000, through his Ndamukong Suh Family Foundation, to his former high school. The money will help the school install a new track and synthetic turf field for football.

"This situation was kind of sad because this is a place where I grew up," Suh said. "I have blood, sweat and tears on this field. I feel like this is something we should have had when I was here."

Suh, who has dealt with a number of controversial incidents, on and off the field, since coming to Detroit, has been building up plenty of good will this offseason.
