Derek Jeter has played with Ichiro Suzuki on nine All-Star teams, but Monday night marked a new chapter in their relationship.
The Yankees traded two minor-leaguers for the 10-time All-Star and cash considerations, bringing in Ichiro to bolster the outfield for the final two-plus months of 2012.
"We've made a lot of trades throughout the years," Jeter said. "Start with my first year when we got Cecil Fielder, there have been a lot of guys that came here that were unexpected and out of the blue. That's what you come to expect around here."
