The Nuggets have five back-to-back sets this month, but Wilson Chand- ler is only playing "backs." The reserve forward is still recovering from hip surgery, so Denver will only play Chandler in one of two games in a back-to-back set. That's why Chandler didn't play Saturday night against the Heat.

With Chandler out, coach George Karl opted to give more playing time to Corey Brewer off the bench. Brewer was a sparkplug early against the Heat, scoring seven points in his first eight minutes.

In two games this season, Chandler has averaged 19.5 minutes, 7.0 points and 4.5 rebounds. But he has shot only 27.8 percent from the floor.
