Michael Vick just got a contract extension with a $3.5 million signing bonus. Nick Foles is the only rookie quarterback in NFL history to throw for 240 yards per game and complete 60 percent of his passes.

Curious where Dennis Dixon fits in?

“I’m curious, too,” Dixon said Monday.

The Eagles officially signed Dixon to a futures contract Monday, a move first reported by CSNPhilly.com Eagles Insider Geoff Mosher.

Dixon spent the past season on the Ravens’ practice squad, winning his second Super Bowl ring in five years. He was a backup on the 2008 Steelers.

But he’s thrown only 59 passes in parts of five NFL seasons and has more career Super Bowl rings (two) than touchdown passes (one). He hasn’t thrown a pass in a regular-season game since Sept. 19, 2010.

Dixon is here because he played at Oregon under Chip Kelly, and because in theory he understands exactly what Kelly is looking for.
