Coach Tom Thibodeau didn't want to play Luol Deng extended minutes in his first game back after a five-game absence due to an injured right hamstring.
Deng scored 12 points in 31 minutes of action in the Bulls' 93-85 win over the Charlotte Bobcats.
"I felt great," Deng said. "I hadn't gone full speed like that, so I was a little worried about the change of speed and direction. So I'm happy I was able to not have any setbacks. [The hamstring] felt a little tight, but it didn't feel like how it felt when I first [injured] it."
Deng returns, but Butler steals the show
