If the events of Thursday afternoon—the NBA trade deadline or critical comments made by Reggie Rose, the older brother of injured superstar Derrick Rose—affected the Bulls heading into their disappointing loss to Miami later that evening, they wouldn’t let on afterwards.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” was Joakim Noah’s response and fellow All-Star Luol Deng—both players were singled out in the ESPNChicago.com story—took the same stance.

As far as the trade deadline, which passed without the Bulls making a move, Rip Hamilton, who was reportedly being shopped by the team, wasn’t fazed.

“Same old, same old. Pretty much one of those things,” the veteran told CSNChicago.com. “Every year it comes and goes.”

Deng added: “I don’t know if it did [affect Bulls players], but we didn’t talk about it as a team. Maybe it distracted some guys, but I don’t think that was the problem.”
