Free agency has begun in the NBA and now it’s time to see just how creative the Indiana Pacers can be.

Teams can begin talking to free agents at midnight but can’t announce any signings until July 10. That’s when the 2013-14 salary cap figure — expected to me $58.5 million —is set by the league.

Roy Hibbert, Paul George, George Hill and Lance Stephenson are under contract from the Pacers starting lineup that took the eventual NBA champion Miami Heat to seven games in the Eastern Conference finals.

Players such as Ian Mahinmi, Miles Plumlee and Jeff Pendergraph are likely to return to provide frontcourt depth and Danny Granger is expected to return from a knee injury that caused him to miss all but five games last season.

The Pacers are expected to be approximately $7 million under the cap.
