The Giants will have a familiar quarterback room in 2013: Eli Manning, followed by David Carr.

The former No. 1 overall pick, who has backed up Manning for four of the past five seasons, will re-sign with the team, according to a person with knowledge of the move. That person requested anonymity because the Giants have not yet announced the signing.

Carr, 33, wanted to test the market as a free agent, looking for possible opportunities to compete for a starting job, and drew some interest during the three-day negotiating period. But he'll be back with the Giants on a one-year deal, the person said.
