Yu Darvish might not know who Charlie Hough is but the Texas pitcher did his best imitation of the former Rangers pitcher Sunday.

During his bullpen session, Darvish threw one knuckleball.

Apparently there's no reason for Hough or Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey to be concerned about the knuckleballing legacy.

"Before I started throwing a knuckleball I was going to start my season like Dickey last year," Darvish joked. "After I threw it, I gave up that idea."

Darvish also isn't getting worked up about whether or not he's the Opening Day starter for the Rangers. Texas manager Ron Washington said the team has two candidates for the job, with Darvish and Matt Harrison the likely choices.

"As long as they let me pitch I fine wherever I'm pitching," Darvish said. "It doesn't really have any significance for me as long as I pitch."

Darvish will be the opening spring starter for the Rangers, sort of. He'll start the first game of spring for the Rangers when he takes the mound for Tuesday's intrasquad game. Right-hander Alexi Ogando will be the other starter.

Harrison will start Wednesday's second intrasquad game. Nick Tepesch is also starting Wednesday.
