With free agency almost here, teams are soon going to be able to make trades again. This means cornerback Darrelle Revis could soon be on the move. The New York Daily News reported on Wednesday that the New York Jets are for sure planning to trade Revis, and supposedly there are two or three teams ready to make a move to acquire him.
Both the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons were mentioned in the report as possible trade partners for the Jets, but ESPN's Chris Mortensen has already refuted the 49ers' supposed interest in acquiring Revis. Whether or not the Falcons are truly a realistic landing spot is unknown, but what are some other options for the Jets? CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora thinks the Detroit Lions should be viewed as a possible suitor for Revis.
I just can't see it. NFL Network's Albert Breer reports that the Jets are after a first-round pick and a conditional pick next year to make a deal for Revis happen. The Lions do not have the firepower to pull something like that off, and I can't imagine they would give away the No. 5 pick for a player coming off of a torn ACL.
