Crawley Town look set to appoint John Gregory as their new manager.
Gregory spent four years at Villa Park but has not managed in England since his spell with Queens Park Rangers in 2007.
Crawley sacked previous boss Richie Barker after he led the side to seven matches without a win, a run of games in which they scored just one goal.

During his exile from English football Gregory two clubs in Israel and one in Kazakhstan. However he left the last of those clubs, FC Kairat of the Kazakhstan Premier League, in 2011.
Barker led Crawley to a 10th place finish in League One last season, but was dismissed last Wednesday after a third consecutive draw.
After losing away to Crewe on Saturday, the club sit in 15th place, five points above the drop zone, despite being without a win in eight.
