The already shallow depth along the defensive line just evaporated a little bit more.

Who needs defensive ends anyway?

The Cowboys defensive line took another hit today as they placed DE Edgar Jones on IR after he had sports hernia surgery today. The club used their one allowed designated to return on Jones meaning that he will be eligible to return to the team for the Week 15 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Jones was acquired for a 2014 6th round pick from Kansas City. Originally he was brought in for his special teams prowess and is currently tied for third on the team with three tackles. However due to the litany of injuries Dallas has suffered at the position Jones was pressed into duty at defensive end.

He played four snaps in the opener against the Giants but totaled 64 snaps in Week 3 and 4. Now he's done for the majority of the year.
