With former White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen headed to the Marlins, speculation that Carlos Zambrano and Aramis Ramirez soon will follow already has begun.

Whether it's all a pipe dream remains to be seen, but Ramirez noted before Tuesday night's 6-2 win over the Padres that the Marlins are in need of a third baseman.

"I know Ozzie because of baseball, but we don't have any kind of special relationship," he said. "I haven't heard from anybody. … (It's) just speculation.

"We'll see more when I become a free agent. They don't have a third baseman and they are going to have money, so they could be one of the teams interested in my service. But I don't know anything now."
