Colts safety John Boyett was arrested early Monday morning and faces preliminary charges of disorderly conduct public intoxication and resisting law enforcement. By Tuesday the Colts had waived Boyett a rookie sixth-round pick out of Oregon from the reserve/non-football injury list.

According to an Indianapolis police report the 23-year-old Boyett was upset that he was not allowed into a downtown nightclub because he had had too much to drink. Boyett who ran when an officer attempted to arrest him was eventually caught. It was at that time that he told the officer “You can't arrest me I'm a Colts player.”
