When the Colts waived linebacker Monte Simmons on Monday in order to open up a roster spot the assumption by pretty much everyone (myself included) was that they'd sign a wide receiver. Darrius Heyward-Bey reportedly has a Grade I+ MCL sprain and while Chuck Pagano designated the sprain as "not serious" there is no timetable for DHB's return which would imply that the injury is indeed "serious" enough for him to miss practices at training camp.

However lost in the shuffle of injury news was rookie fullback Dan Moore. He hurt his shoulder on Sunday during practice and he was seen Monday by our own Josh Wilson with his arm in a sling.

With only Stanley Havili on the roster to work at fullback during practices the Colts opted to bring back Robert Hughes a player they had on the roster last season. In 2012 he suited up in six games starting one of them.
