Cole Hamels has been scratched from Wednesday's start with a gastrointestinal illness, according to CBSSports.com's Danny Knobler.

The Phillies have called up Tyler Cloyd to replace Hamels in the rotation. The start will be the first of Cloyd's career. The 25-year-old righty has a 2.26 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A this season. He will face off against Mets rookie Matt Harvey.

There doesn't appear to be any concern over Hamels' illness at this time. There's no indication it will cause him to miss more than one start.

In 25 starts for the Phillies this season, Hamels has a 2.99 ERA and a 3.49 FIP. He's struck out nearly a batter per inning.
