To err is human, to forgive divine. But this was ridiculous.

All-Star shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera made three errors Sunday afternoon that led to eight -- count 'em, eight -- enemy runs as the Pirates pounded the reeling Indians, 9-5, at Progressive Field.

Cabrera ended his worst day in the big leagues by jogging out of the batter's box in the ninth inning after hitting a fly ball to right field. No, he didn't go into his home-run trot too early.

"I thought he had a chance to catch that ball," said Cabrera. "That's why I slowed down."
