Monaco are believed to have joined Atletico Madrid in the battle for Chelsea’s Fernando Torres.

The Spanish international in thought to be a target for his former club after they sold Diego Costa to Chelsea last week, but with talks seemingly not progressing between the two parties, Monaco are said to have entered the fray.

The Mirror reports Monaco are keen to sign Torres as a replacement for James Rodriguez, whose £60m move to Real Madrid was confirmed today, while they are also preparing for the potential departure of Radamel Falcao.
