Chelsea and Manchester City are ready to vie for the signing of French midfielder Blaise Matuidi if he fails to agree a new contract at PSG.

The 26-year-old's contract at the Parc des Princes expires in June 2014 and reports in France suggest that Chelsea and City will look to move for Matuidi if a new contract cannot be agreed in the near future.

According to L'Equipe both clubs are keen to sign French international and could enter into a pre-contract agreement with the former Saint Etienne star in January.
