It’s pretty obvious the New York Yankees are going to be looking for a fill in third baseman or possibly a permanent replacement for Alex Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is currently facing a possible full season suspension from baseball the Yankees need to find someone to come in and take his spot. I honestly don’t see Rodriguez beating this suspension so it would be smart if the Yankees picked up their phone and called the San Diego Padres and ask what they want for Headley.

Headley right now would be their best option at third base. I believe he was a possible trade candidate earlier in the year and the Yankees were supposedly interested in him.

This season with the Padres Headley hit .250/.347/.400 with 13 home runs 50 RBI’s through 520 at bats. In his previous season he hit a career high 31 home runs and 115 RBI’s with a batting line of .286/.376/.498.
