The Los Angeles Dodgers got mixed news on their bullpen Tuesday, learning that closer Kenley Jansen will return Sept. 17, but that Chad Billingsley -- whose role would have been in relief if he returned -- likely is lost for the season.

A cardiologist informed Jansen he could come off blood-thinning medication in 10 days, meaning he could be back on a field competing a few days after that. Jansen said he "definitely" will be pitching again in 2012.

He said he will undergo an ablation procedure after the season, hopeful it will take care of the off-and-on irregular heartbeat, known as atrial fibrillation, he has been experiencing since last season.
