The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have added two high-profile NFL quarterbacks to their exclusive negotiation list.

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and ex-Washington Redskin and Cleveland Brown Robert Griffin III are now among the 45 players for whom the Ticats have exclusive CFL rights.

Kaepernick has played six seasons in the NFL, and made headlines last year for not standing for the U.S. national anthem. He has been a free agent since opting out of his contract earlier this month.

The 29-year-old threw for 2,241 yards and 16 touchdowns in 11 starts in 2016. He's thrown for 72 touchdowns since joining San Francisco as a 2011 second-round draft pick.

The second overall pick by the Washington Redskins in 2012, Griffin III was the NFL Rookie-of-the-Year that season but he has been injury-plagued for much of his career. He's still just 27.
