Francisco Cervelli will be out for at least six weeks after suffering a fractured right hand Friday night and Ivan Nova left the game soon after with right elbow pain.

Cervelli suffered the injury when leadoff hitter Rajai Davis fouled off a 1-2 slider from Nova that hit Cervelli’s hand. He was able to flex the hand, but was immediately removed for Chris Stewart and will need surgery.

Top prospect Austin Romine was pulled from behind the plate in the middle of an inning during Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s game and will be with the team Saturday. After 13 games with SWB, Romine was hitting .341 (14-41) with an OPS of .815. He didn’t have an extra base hit until homering Thursday.

Nova left after Davis singled up the middle in the third. Trainer Steve Donohue jogged to the mound and asked Nova several questions and Nova only nodded before heading off the mound. He was scheduled to get an MRI exam Friday.
