Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz homered in his second rehab start for the Clearwater Threshers on Wednesday. He finished the game 1-for-3 with two walks as the Threshers beat the Tampa Yankees, 9-7.

In his first at bat, Ruiz hit a three-run home run to left field in the top of the first inning to open the scoring.

After walking in his second plate appearance, Ruiz grounded out to the pitcher with a runner on second with one out in his second at bat.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Ruiz threw out a would-be base stealer at second base. Later, Yankees second baseman Robert Refsnyder successfully stole second. Ruiz caught all nine innings in the Threshers' win.

Ruiz drew another walk in the sixth inning before ending his day at the plate with a pop out to the second baseman.
