I'll be in Chicago for the fantastic STL vs. CHI sports weekend. Two days of Cardinals against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, then Sunday's NFL game between the Rams and Bears at Soldier Field. It should be a fun experience, and I'll be cranking out plenty of words.

Starting now, actually:

• Chris Carpenter, standing on the mound at Wrigley Field, bottom of the first, Cubs' leadoff hitter digging in, Carp staring in at catcher Yadier Molina for the sign. Pardon my jacked-up enthusiasm, but this will be one of the great moments of the Cardinals' 2012 season. I don't know what to expect from Carpenter, who hasn't pitched in a real baseball game since last Oct. 28. We'll know that Carpenter is back when he shoots his first glare at a Cubs' batter.
