The Cardinals did a number on Royals reliever Aaron Crow, scoring four runs in the eighth inning to pull out a 5-3 win over the Royals on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium for their fourth straight win.

The late-inning dramatics got Randy Choate his first win of the season after starter Lance Lynn allowed just two runs in seven innings. Edward Mujica picked up his 17th save of the season with a 1-2-3 ninth.

After Carlos Beltran led off the eighth with a homer to cut the Royals' lead to 3-2 and Matt Holliday struck out, the next four Cardinals reached base. Allen Craig singled, Yadier Molina singled him to second and David Freese singled to score Craig and tie the game, with Molina going to third and Freese to second on the throw to the plate.

The Royals intentionally walked Jon Jay to load the bases. Pete Kozma struck out and Descalso, batting for Randy Choate, singled up the middle to drive in two runs. That was it for Crow. Reliever Luke Hochevar got out of the inning thanks to a diving stop by shortstop Alcides Escobar who threw out Matt Carpenter at first.

The big inning kept Lynn from getting just his second loss of the season. Though he allowed just two runs, the Cardinals had scored just one run in the first seven innings.
