Jack Capuano will return as coach of the New York Islanders next season, general manager Garth Snow said Monday according to Newsday.

The Islanders ended the season winning three straight and going 8-2-2 over their last 12, but finished 14th in the Eastern Conference with a 34-37-11 record one season after making the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2007.
