The Canes will be without forward Jeff Skinner on the trip to Montreal, coach Kirk Muller said Sunday. Muller said Skinner, the Canes' second-leading scorer with seven goals and seven assists, has an "upper-body" injury.
Skinner took some hard hits in Thursday's game against Toronto, once crashing helmet-first into the boards. He said he felt fine after the game and took part in practice Friday afternoon at PNC Arena, and the team had a day off Saturday.
Muller said Skinner came to Sunday's practice at Raleigh Center Ice but did not feel well. He said he did not know if Skinner, who missed 16 games last season because of a concussion, had any concussion-related issues.
"We'll evaluate him when we get back Tuesday," Muller said
