After a three-game absence Miguel Cabrera is back in the starting lineup for the Tigers.

Manager Jim Leyland received the medical clearance he was hoping to get so Cabrera was written into the lineup to play third and bat third for the Tigers on Tuesday night against the Boston Red Sox.

First pitch is 7:10 p.m. at Fenway Park.

While stretching before the game Cabrera showed no ill-effects of the groin problem that he aggravated on a slide into second base at Comerica Park last Thursday night.

He tried to play the next day after the slide but had to come out after one at-bat.

With 24 games remaining to the regular season Cabrera is hitting .358 with 43 home runs and 130 RBIs. His batting average and RBIs lead not just the American League but the majors.
