When recently acquired Sixers center Andrew Bynum made his way to the stage on Wednesday, fans at the National Constitution Center went wild.

Soon after he was seated next to Jason Richardson, the Sixers' other recent acquisition, fans chanted, "Beat L.A., Beat L.A."

Bynum, a 7-foot, 285-pound center, and Richardson were part of a four-team blockbuster deal that sent Andre Iguodala to Denver and Dwight Howard from Orlando to the Los Angeles Lakers.

What the Plainsboro native and St. Joseph of Metuchen graduate gives the Sixers is a lot of hope. The huge crowd which attended the open-to-the-public news conference spoke to that. They held up signs. They chanted. They embraced the deal — big time.
