Earlier this week, The Associated Press reported that the Buffalo Bills and the agent for free agent safety Jairus Byrd would meet in Indianapolis at this week's Combine to discuss a new contract. Now, per team president Russ Brandon (via WGR 550), we know that the team plans to do the same thing with representation for free agent guard Andy Levitre.
As we pointed out when the Byrd news broke this week, the Bills had not made much progress on a new contract with Stevie Johnson this time a year ago - but after the two sides spoke at the Combine, Johnson signed a lucrative five-year contract extension less than two weeks later. Now that the Bills are talking to both of their prime free agents this year, it's fair to expect movement on one or both before the March 4 franchise and transition tag deadline.
