Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper spent his first off-day of the 2013 season in unique fashion.

Harper, who hit two home runs on Opening Day, visited the White House Tuesday evening for a reception and a screening of the movie ‘42’ with President Obama.

The movie, the Jackie Robinson story being billed as “The True Story of an American Legend,” hits theaters on April 12.

Harper said the experience was a great one, and that he and President Obama chatted a bit.

Harper didn’t expand too much on the evening, as he was in the middle of batting practice when asked about it. He did say Obama’s questions and comments made it clear that he’d been paying close attention to the Nationals.
