Jay Bruce today was named NL Player of the Week for the period ending April 29.

Bruce hit .476 (10 for 21) in six games last week, leading the majors in slugging percentage (1.143) and total bases (24), while tying for the lead with four home runs. Among NL players Bruce ranked second with 10 RBI and a .542 on-base percentage. Bruce also had two steals in helping lead the Reds to a 4-2 record for the week.
